Digipack analysis
Rihanna digi-pak loud
Front cover is of Rihanna there is an extreme close up of her face; she is wearing red lipstick and has red hair this could show love and passion, her make up is bold but not over the top. Her facial expression is quite plain she has her eyes closed, which shows she is thinking or might be upset or hurt. This cover already shows that the album is about love. The album is called loud most of the music is up tempo, pop, electro-R&B and it reflects her personality which is loud fun flirty and energetic and the attitude grabs your attention.Vocalists, including rappers Drake, Nicki Minaj and Eminem,The CD is a pink rose, the pink can symbolize flirty and sweet and it’s a rose so it can show elegance. Also it goes with the theme of love and passion.

Question 3
*VIDEO*
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
After creating our music video and ancillary tasks we asked a variety
of people both older, younger and within our target audience to watch our music
video and give their feedback of their thoughts on it. We did this by firstly
previewing it and then giving them a questionnaire to fill out afterwards, we
also video recorded this.
The first question we asked was ‘is this music video fit for purpose?’
every response we got agreed that our music video was fit for purpose and one
even commented that we used a modern connection by the use of our filters. This
is successful; as when creating our music video we wanted it to relate to the
song, we also wanted it to have a modern and current feel where the overall
production wasn’t old fashioned and dated.
Another question we asked was about the target audience and what they
thought it was. Our audience correctly identified that our target audience was
around the ages of 16 to 30 years of age. From our feedback correctly being
identified is successful as it means we have targeted our niche market directly
and appropriately.
We also asked ‘could you see this video on a music channel today?’ every
response agreed and said yes they could see our music video on a music channel.
One of the feedbacks also comments that they agreed because there wasn’t any
obvious staging and the whole product looks very natural.
In all of the feedback we got a positive response that they all thought
the narrative we used was both effective and appropriate. They commented on the
connection between the words and when our actress was shown, but one also
commented that they would have liked to have seen more of a progression through
the narrative from the start to the end of the music video.
All of our feedback agreed that our music video fits in with the indie/rock
genre we intended. This was an aim of ours to make sure our music video was
distinctive therefore there would be no confusion about the genre of it.
Comments were made about the close ups we used of both the band members and
their instruments and how this is similar to other music videos in the same
genre therefore they were able to distinguish easily what genre we based it
around.
Another question we asked regards their own individual opinions as to
what part of the whole music video works best. Comments vary from the
connection of going between the story and the band, our use of slow motion and how
our band and actress acted professionally throughout.
Overall I am really pleased with the feedback
we received regarding our music video, where the majority of our feedback was
very positive. The negative comment we received regarding our narrative not
progressing is something we cannot change now, although would try to overcome
it if we were to create the music video again from the start.
I feel like I now have a good understanding
of what it takes to create a music video. I am now aware of all of the
components that need to be included and how to directly target an audience and how
to make a music video part of a set music genre.

Editing
These are a the print screens from the editing process which we completed as a group. You can see from each photo, the process of colour satiation, cutting and pasting parts of the clip to form our music video. Using desaturation effect, gave the footage a vintage feel, this particular high level edit was used as we agreed it would cover any imperfections and errors in our filming. The reason behind this was due to the camera being slightly out of focus, this was not clear when filming.

Park filming
By having Abbie look at the camera, it engaged the audience making them involved with the music video. The way the camera angles were used, was to show that Abbie was talking to the main band member, therefore creating a memory, which is what the lead is thinking about when singing the love song of Use somebody.
First plan - costume planning
I created a mood board by looking through magazines to find the type of clothing and jewelry i feel is stereotypical of the R&B music genre. I noticed that most of their clothing is black with jeans and then lots of gold jewelry. I then created a mood board of famous R&B artists to show how they are dressed to get further inspiration.
For our 3 main actors we have chosen to have their costumes consisting of plain black clothing with jeans and gold jewelry to keep with the stereotypes that i have found when researching into R&B music videos. I have added pictures of examples of what we are planning our actors to wear when filming our music video.
First plan - props list
Before filming our music video we need to think about what props we need to include so that it makes it easier to when we come to filming. firstly we will need a camera to film the video and a tripod to make sure out filming is precise and not shaky to get a better quality video. Then the props we will need for in the video is a cross, flag and a bible. we will use a camera and tripod from our school media department, we will then buy a British flag, make a wooden cross and borrow a bible from one of our friends.
